For his 13th solo
album, Mike Stern draws together a string of remarkable musicians to support the
project. Bassist Richard Bona lays down thick pulsing grooves and even contributes
scat vocals to several tracks such as “Good Question.” Despite his creative generosity,
Stern’s playing always takes center stage because of his inventive playing and
blistering chops.
