Kristin Chenoweth offers a musical self-portrait on As I Am
(Sony Classical/Integrity). There are mostly songs of faith here, with Chenoweth
paying tribute to her influences (Amy Grant, Sandi Patti, songs she grew up
with). Her delicate and cheering voice enhances what may seem too sweet to some
ears but the album also includes “Taylor The Latte Boy,” a touch of
surprising humor.
