ONE WAY Recommends [Issue
#24] Warner Drive By
Dean Truitt
Fully Loaded
(CD
Rancho Relaxo)
Having dominated the
Sunset Strip for the past few years, Warner Drive has just released their debut
CD, Fully Loaded. Delivering fist-raising rock anthems with raw punk energy,
the band has amassed a legion of fans from time served on the Vans Warped Tour
and their own rigorous travels throughout the West Coast. Produced by hailed producer
Mike Clink, who has overseen landmark albums such as Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for
Destruction, Warner Drive captures the sweaty rock of their live shows on songs
such as: “Viper Room,” “Life,” and “All By Myself.” Alongside singer Jon Jonas’
unbridled charisma, guitarist Chris Koushayan’s shredding riffs, bassist Peter
Crowner’s punching bass lines and growling harmonies, and drummer Matt Shapiro’s
slamming grooves function as four-headed crushing machine. Mellower tracks like
“Stand Up” and “Broken” simmer with introspective intensity. Record labels have
been swarming around the group and 2007 should see the group signing a deal. To
buy the album that has more energy than an adrenalin shot, check out cdbaby.com/warnerdrive
